Blog

March 2021

We trust you are all fit and well and abiding by the latest government Covid guidelines? I must apologise for not updating this blog more over the past months. Pindale Farm is still here and ready and waiting for you to return, please fill in the booking form and we can get you booked in for that break from home schooling. We have not been simply sitting back and doing nothing during the lockdowns, mind with all the cold wet weather during the winter months we have been a bit stuck for things to do! At the same time trying to reduce our costs, we still have to run the sewage system and water pump and not wanting to turn on extra heating to do small jobs indoors at extra expense. With the return of dry weather, we are continuing with our ground work, tree work and fencing, not to mention outside painting when it’s a bit warmer. We have started to convert the Powder House info a D of E leaders hut following damage to the roof by guests some years ago. New IP65 electrics are installed, now we need to replace the roof! Last, we are looking at a new WiFi system, so watch this space for updates.

Accommodation and camping at Pindale till 21st June 2021

It’s still all a bit fluid with what we can and can’t provide these days with the government, data lead, Covid rules. Things have even changed since the PM’s announcement on 22nd February 2021. The government legislation issued on 22nd March say we can now accept campers from 12th April, much the same as last year with all the social distancing rules etc in place. In addition, on 26th March the Department for Education says schools can plan for residential trips to take place from 17th May. So, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions where the students camp can re start from 17th May. As for our barn accommodation, that is still restricted to three doorways or three rooms from 12th April, for single households or groups of up to six people from 17th May until 21st June. From 21st June we should be back to normal, in a reduced way to maintain social distancing to start with. You will still be expected to keep a safe distance from others, use face masks, hand sanitiser and washings hands etc. I hope this clarifies the situation, looking forward to seeing you again, all the best, stay safe, Alan.
