The Powder House
The Powder House was originally built as the explosive store for the lead mine, sometime after 1640, when permission was granted for the drainage level down to the river. When the centre was renovated in 1988, the building was lovingly converted to accommodate four people.
The accommodation comprises a four-person bunk, a small electric cooker, a storage heater, and lighting. Guests staying in the Powder House share the same water, toilet, and shower facilities as our campers.
Unfortunately, following damage caused by a group of guests, the Powder House is not in use at this time. We’re sorry to say that our B&B rooms are also unavailable for the time being. We hope to be able to welcome guests back to both in the future, and we’ll be sure to update our availability as soon as anything changes.
